Captain Scarlet - 3D Tabletop Photography using Webcam and RPi
Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons is a UK TV science fiction series from 1967, written by Gerry Anderson. Merchandising items and collectables are today from auction platforms available. The puppets here are sized approx. 9.5 cm / 3.75 inch, vehicles are diecasts in scale 1:43. Please note, that all images are taken with a Logitech C920 webcam, driven by a homebrewed Raspberry Pi software. The story in very short: It is the year 2068. The Mysterons are sworn enemies of the Earth. They are going to destroy the world. Leading the fight against the Mysterons is one man that fate has made indestructible. His name is Captain Scarlet from the Spectrum Organisation.
Colonel White, head of Spectrum Organisation, operates usually from his Commander Desk. He assembles his officers Black, Blue, Brown, Green etc. to issue commands. Due to officer's names, it is obvious, that his name must be White and the organisation is named Spectrum.
The Mysterons plan to attack one of the world's major goverment centres. Spectrum announces the highest alarm level. Colonel White gives instructions to his officers using a 3D screen and depicts the major places to defend.
This are the persons the World trusts and hopes on: Colonel White not fighting in field but a great strategy person, Destiny Angel and her team arise with the interceptor in case of trouble and don't take prisoners, Captain Scarlet, White's best man.
Mysterion Agents are impervious to X-rays. A camera has been developed that takes an instant X-ray picture. If the result of an image is instead a RGB image, the subject is a Mysterion reconstruction.
The Spectrum Saloon car is a five-seater patrol vehicle available for use by all Spectrum personnel. A four-wheel-drive vehicle capable of speeds up to 200 m.p.h.
Fast, armed, armoured and amphibious, the Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle is Spectrum's major Earth-bound weapon.
